Has Your Progress Stalled?

One way to get your lifts moving again is to appropriately pump up the volume. This image shows the bench volume (reps x sets) for a lifter I have been working with. You can see two distinct training cycles in weeks 35 through 49 and Weeks 50 through 67. The purple line is higher in the second cycle because we increased the volume. We accomplished this mainly by adding a fourth training day. So far, we have seen positive results, with the athlete adding 5% to their top single, at a lower RPE (8 vs. 10).
